First Dance Wedding Scrapbook Layout Idea

Today we are back again with a quick and easy wedding scrappbook layout idea for all of you. This particular page features 4 photos from the "First Dance" at the wedding that the new bride and groom shared together.

The background sheet is a printed piece of scrapbooking paper done in a soft blue with white floral print. The bride cropped down the 3 photos on the left and matted them on one strip of royal blue cardstock. She used an edger punch to add a fancy edge to the bottom of the strip and added a soft blue ribbon bow at the top of the photo strip. At the very bottom is a "First Dance" sticker embellishment in white with silver wording.

She slightly cropped down the photo on the left and left it unmatted but added four royal blue cardstock corners. Below that is a sticker embellishment that says "Dance with Me" and underneath that is another 3-D embellishment of pennants that spell out "Mr. & Mrs." that are really cute. Above that photo are three more embellishments. One says "Just Married", another says "LOVE" and the final one is a bird cage with two love birds inside it.

This is a great layout for those of you who want something quick & easy that doesn't cost a fortune to make. This page cost around $2.50 and took less than 1 hour to complete. Now that is what I call frugal scrapbooking for sure! You can find more bridal and wedding scrapbooking page ideas right here on my blog!

Super Quick and Easy Wedding Scrapbooking Page Layout Idea

For the past few months my daughter and I have been working on her official wedding scrapbook. We are paper crafters and are not using digital scrapbooking at all. Sorry guys & girls, I know a lot of people are into that but frankly, I love paper and embellishments!

Today's wedding layout was done in the 12" by 12" size. It is what I like to call a super quick & easy scrapbook layout that is frugal too. That's right, we don't like spending $10 and up for one page and we don't want to spend 3+ hours making it!

The background is a sheet of royal blue cardstock. We then cut a 10" square piece of white with silver hearts scrapbooking paper as a photo mat. We slightly cropped down a 4" by 6" photo and matted it onto navy blue cardstock and onto a piece of white cardstock (double mat) and trimmed around the edges.

We took 1/2" wide sheer blue ribbon and accented our photo mat (as shown in the photo) with mini glue dots and added a matching bow in the top left corner. We added a clear adhesive word sticker that says "Bride and Groom" to the bottom left, a happy heart cutout and a tiny pale blue ribbon bow with a tiny white pearl in the center.

Before attaching it to the background page we cut a silver metallic doily in half and mounted that underneath the photo mat and then put it all onto the blue sheet of cardstock. We finished up the layout by using some silver metallic star stickers across the top and some silver metallic swirl stickers at various other places on the page. My daughter added a lovely clear adhesive "Love" poem sticker down the right side.

All of the stickers and embellishments were leftover from other wedding scrapbooking layouts that we did which was a great way to use them up and we didn't have to put a lot of time or money into the page. I think it turned out rather nicely. Enjoy!

Quick and Easy Wedding Scrapbooking Page Idea

Last weekend I found some time to sit down and create a new scrapbooking page for my daughter's wedding scrapbook that I've been working on for the past four months. She had a professional photographer so it is taking me quite some time to go through over 1,000 photos and to select some for her official wedding scrapbook.

This layout was done in the traditional 12" by 12" size and is NOT a digital layout. Sorry crafters, I don't care for digital scrapbooking at all. I love paper and real embellishments!

I used two 5x7" photos which I cropped down a little bit along all four sides. My background is a printed sheet of scrapbooking paper done in a pretty light purple and sage green floral pattern with a LOVE word-printed border that goes around all four sides. Each corner has a printed rose which I think makes the sheet of paper perfect for wedding photos.

I matted my two photos onto a sheet of purple and sage green floral printed paper that was cut into a rectangle shape. I inked around the edges and then matted that square onto sage green cardstock and inked around the edges again.

At the dollar store I found a pack of 3-dimensional wedding theme'd cardstock stickers and I used the title sticker out of that pack that says "PROMISE" across the top of the page. I used the "ROSE" sticker to accent one of my word blocks underneath the left photo.

The two word blocks are ones I cut out of printed paper. One says "Memories start at the heart and live in it forever" and the other one says "The love we give away is the only love we keep". I inked around the edges and then matted them onto sage green cardstock and inked around the edges again. I used adhesive foam dots to put them all together and to adhere them to the page.

I had two silver dazzles leftover from another paper project and used both on this wedding scrapbooking layout. The first one is centered on the bottom of the page and is really elegant looking. The second one is a small silver star and I used that to accent the top right word block.

You can find additional wedding scrapbooking layouts right here on my blog. I have another 15+ to share with all of you once I find the time to sit down and write up the posts and to take photos.

Rustic Wedding Scrapbooking Page Layout Idea

As you all know...one of my favorite crafting medium happens to be scrapbooking. While many people are now into digital scrapbooking, I am still one of those who LOVES paper crafting and continue to scrapbook the traditional way.

Six months ago my daughter got married in a beautiful outdoor setting with over 150+ guests in attendance. For the past few months I have been working on her wedding scrapbook (many of those layouts are found here on my blog in the scrapbooking category) and today I wanted to share a new 12" by 12" page idea with all of you.

My background is a textured piece of olive green cardstock measuring 12" by 12" in size. Layered on top is an oriental print of textured cardstock with a green, brown and pale red pattern. That piece measures 10" by 7" in size. I used chocolate brown ink and inked around the edges and placed a dark brown photo corner in each of the four corners.

I took a 5" by 7" wedding photo and matted in onto olive green cardstock, then white cardstock and then brown cardstock (triple mat) leaving an 1/8" edge around the green & white mats and a 3/16" edge around the chocolate brown mat. I accented the photo with a "Husband & Wife" file tab at the top and underneath the photo is a cardstock cut-out that says "This Is Your Life" which I attached with tiny dark brown brads.

I made my own border strip using a piece of that oriental paper that is underneath the large photo and cut it down to measure 1 3/4" by 8" in length. I inked around the edges in brown and then added three 3-dimensional embellishments to it (2 layered hearts with tiny buttons and a cardstock printed envelope that says forever). In each corner of my background sheet I placed a 3-dimensional cardstock sticker of white flowers (corner embellishments) to pull the design out to the corners and the edges.

To accent the large wedding photo I added a tag at the top right corner that says Forever & Ever and attached it with a dark chocolate brad. I also inked around the edges so that it would pop off the page. To finish up I added one more 3-dimensional chipboard embellishment  to the right of the photo that says "Live Laugh Love".

I really like how this rustic wedding scrapbook page layout turned out. I wanted my color scheme to match the photo which is done mostly in earth tones. The only pop of color on the entire page is the blue & white wedding bouquet and the groom's tie and vest which are both in the center of the layout. It's really appealing overall to the eyes and the viewer is immediately drawn to the bride & the groom.

With This Ring Wedding Scrapbooking Layout Page

Today I am sharing with all of you a new wedding scrapbooking layout page that I recently made featuring a photo from my daughter's wedding back in June. You can find all of the layouts we have done so far for her wedding photos by checking out the Scrapbooking category here on my craft blog.

This is a traditional 12 x 12 layout. It is NOT digital as we don't care for digital scrapbooking. To each their own I guess.

The background is a textured sheet of navy blue cardstock. There is a bottom border measuring 12" by 3" in size. It is a blue rose floral pattern printed piece of paper. Along each edge of that border strip we attached sheer satin royal blue ribbon. The title of the page is With This Ring and we used the Cricut to cut the letters first from navy blue cardstock and then from white cardstock. We used the Xyron to layer the letters together to spell out our title.

We used one vertical 4 x 6 photo of them standing there saying their wedding vows. We matted it onto silver metallic cardstock and left a 1/8" edge around the mat. We then placed it onto a 8" by 8" square of white printed scrapbooking paper. The print has diamond shapes in gray. We accented the photo block with some sheer ribbon flower embellishments, added on some rhinestones to jazz them up and ran another piece of royal blue sheer ribbon across the top. We then matted the photo square onto navy blue cardstock and then onto white cardstock to frame it up.

We added a 3-dimensional wedding ring embellishment right beside the word "This" with a foam dot and at the very bottom of the page is another 3-D embellishment that says "Wedding Vows" which is printed on a piece of white layered cardstock. There are a few other miscellaneous things on the page too. Our photos in this blog post don't really do it justice but it turned out very nicely.

Scrapbooking Wedding Layout Idea in Neutral Color Tones

Looking for a quick and easy wedding scrapbooking layout page idea? Enjoy the neutral tones? If so, this scrapbook layout is perfect for you! This layout is on the frugal side, very clean looking (not overly cluttered) and takes less than 40 minutes to make. Gotta love that!

The background is a sheet of very pale beige 12 x 12 cardstock. Layered on top is a 10 x 10 square piece of cream colored cardstock. Using a liquid glue pen flat backed sheer ribbon was ran around the edges of the mat square. The ribbon colors (dark green, mustard and rust) add dimension and a "woodsy" feel to the page.

Two 4 x 6 vertical photos were used and were left unmatted. Corners in our color scheme were applied using mini glue dots. We used a premade journaling block (journaling to be added soon) in the top right corner, brown ink around the edges and matching ribbon added as an accent.

Above the photo on the right is a cardstock embellishment that says "Celebrate" that was added to the page using two tiny dark brown brads. Above that numeral stickers in dark brown spell out the year 2014. Underneath that photo is another cardstock embellishment that says "Cherish the Moment" applied with two tiny dark brown brads. Brown ink was used around the edges of all embellishments.

Underneath the photo on the left is another cardstock embellishment that was attached with a small brown brad. It says "Love" on one end. The other end we added a letter "C" that was mounted onto a small piece of sage green cardstock, inked around the edges & then added to the page using a foam dot to give it dimension.

To add just a tad more interest my daughter added hand-stitch lines using a fine tip brown gel pen around the outer edges of the page. I think she did a great job with this rustic wedding scrapbooking layout page idea.

Special Wedding Guests Easy Scrapbooking Layout

If you are looking for a quick, easy and affordable wedding scrapbooking layout idea...this is it! All of the embellishments and page title were made with one Cricuit cartridge. The entire layout took about 45 minutes to complete and was done in the traditional 12 x 12 format. Other than scrapbook paper, you will need some brads and a tiny piece of ribbon.

We used 4 photos which were cropped down into two square shaped photos and two rectangular photos. All four were matted onto white cardstock and trimmed leaving an 1/8" edge. We used the Cricuit to cut out our flower shapes on the #2 size setting.

The white flowers were done with the shadow option and the blue with the regular. They were then fastened together with a white brad. Seven of them run down the left side of the page as a border. Two others are in the bottom right corner and one in the top right corner. In the bottom right corner, we made a slightly larger flower (next size setting up) and placed it there.

Leftover from the wedding reception favors were some white tags that said "Best Day Ever" and one was used on this layout with a small piece of royal blue ribbon. We used the Cricuit to cut out our title letters to spell out "Special Guests" on the #2 size setting and then layered the letters together using a fine-tip glue pen. We then used tiny glue dots to adhere the letters to the page.

If you are a frugal scrapbooker and looking for quick, easy and inexpensive scrapbook layout ideas, this one works perfectly! In under an hour...it is done and you spent less than $1.50 to make the page. Enjoy!

Masculine Wedding Scrapbooking Layout Page

We have been super busy trying to get my daughter's wedding scrapbook done and let me tell you, it is a real chore! They had over 1,000 professionally taken photos from the wedding and reception which she narrowed down to 300 going into her scrapbook(s). It will probably take us an entire year to get them all done.

Anyway, here is another page that we did. It is a 12" by 12" page (not digital scrapbooking) and for this page we wanted it to look masculine since it featured all of the guys from the bridal party. My daughter didn't want an overly cluttered page, no fru-fru girly stuff, etc.

The background is a sheet of white cardstock. On top of that and running down the center (vertical) is a navy blue sheet with white polka dots scrapbooking paper. I believe it measures 8" by 11" in size. She slightly cropped down 3 photos which were then matted onto a sheet of printed navy blue with tiny white pinstripes paper. She left space above and below the photo on the right so that she could make her title.

She used the Cricut and cut out the letters LOOKIN DAPPER from navy blue cardstock and then placed them onto white cardstock rectangles and glued them into the empty spaces on her photo block. She used 1/8" wide navy blue satin ribbon (left over from wedding favors) to frame up the title blocks and used a liquid glue pen for that.

She had several silver metallic textured paper doilies leftover from the wedding reception. We cut them a part (cut out the circles from the doilies) and glued one in each of the 4 corners. We then took a fifth one, cut it in half and glued one half along each side of the photo block.

One of the things we do like about this page is the combination of the polka dot and the pin striped navy blue papers that we used. All polka dots would of been too girly but with the pinstripe paper added, well...it came off masculine and fun!

This page took about 45 minutes to make. A great wedding scrapbook layout for a newbie or for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time or money making their scrapbooking pages.

"My Girls" Scrapbooking Wedding Layout Idea

As promised, over the next several weeks I will be sharing several scrapbooking wedding layouts with all of you. This particular layout was done on a piece of white 12 x 12 cardstock with a piece of 7 1/2" by 12" printed scrapbooking paper accenting it.

The layout features 3 horizontal photos and 1 vertical photo...all have been slightly cropped down and then matted onto dark navy blue cardstock mats. You can see the photo for placement. The photos were then accented with some tiny white 3-dimensional flowers from Jolees.

I own the Epson Label Maker & Printer so I used that to print out the girl's names onto blue satin ribbon and use the frame function on the label maker and a script font. Those labels came out nicely and work great in scrapbooking. I then matted the name tags (labels) onto the dark navy blue carstock to frame them up and used glue dots to put them onto the page.

The title for the page is "MY GIRLS" which was spelled out on a floral printed blue cardstock block which was then matted onto the dark navy blue cardstock. I wasn't crazy with the font for the Alpha Stickers but it is what I had on hand. The title block sits in the bottom right corner of the layout.

The only other thing on the page is a 1/2" by 12" long piece of blue satin ribbon that runs down the page which frames off the edge of the floral printed piece of background paper. There will be a coordinating page to go along with this one which will have a space on it for my daughter to do her journaling. I will show that layout once it is done.

Scrapbooking Tip: Use Broken Jewelry as Embellishments

I love to scrapbook and I also love to visit flea markets. The reason I am bringing up both today is because when I go to the flea market I look for items that I can use in my scrapbooking. Untraditional items that is!

Every time I walk by a table with jewelry on it...I am always looking. Often times I can pick up beautiful jewelry pieces to use as embellishments in my layouts. Even if a piece is broken, I usually pick it up for a nickle or a dime. They can still be used too!

In this particular wedding scrapbook page layout I used two pieces of jewelry. The blue glass heart is a pendant from a broken necklace and accenting the two photos on the left is a rhinestone blue & faux diamond pin. I just simply snipped the broken back off of it and used glue dots to put it onto the page.

All of my family and friends know I scrapbook and all of them save me their broken necklaces, earrings, rings, pins, brooches, bracelets and even charms that they no longer want. Instead of throwing them away, I collect them to use in various craft projects...like scrapbooking!

Here are a few tips:

1. Always try to use pieces that are not heavy in weight or bulky in their thickness.

2. Cut the backs off of your pins & brooches to make them less weighty & bulky. Use wire cutters to do this quickly and easily.

3. Clean all pieces and dry them thoroughly before putting them on your page.

4. To keep silver pieces from tarnishing, coat them in a thin layer of clear nail polish, a thin coating of Modge Podge (clear) or spray them with a clear acrylic sealer. I find that some of these techniques work better than others depending on the item.

5. Broken chains can be inserted through eyelets, through tags or just used to dangle a charm/pendant on the page. You can get a lot of mileage out of one broken neck chain!

6. Jewelry can be broken a part too! I often remove faux pearls, rhinestones & faux gemstones from various pieces and use them on my layouts separately. For example, they make great centers on your flower embellishments.

7. Experiment with adhesives! I like to use very strong-holding glue dots (for most) or a liquid glue pen with a very fine tip.

So spread the word to all of your friends and family members to NOT toss out their unwanted and broken jewelry. These items are great for scrapbooking and cardmaking.

Outdoor Wedding Scrapbooking Layout Idea

My daughter got married back in September of 2014 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. She had over 125 guests in attendance and everything went beautifully for her big day. Now that things are settling down, we have been busy working on her wedding scrapbook. We are traditional scrapbookers and always scrapbook with paper and avoid digital scrapbooking.

This layout was done in the traditional 12 x 12 size. The background is a sheet of solid light turquoise colored textured cardstock. Layered onto that piece is a printed piece of cardstock with an Asian floral print measuring 10 x 10 in size. She took a liquid glue pen and went around the edges with a chocolate brown piece of velvet fiber.

She cropped down (slightly) 3 photos, rounded their corners and then matted them onto dark brown cardstock. We used a purchased pack of chipboard & cardstock stickers from the dollar store (Yes, the dollar store) to accent the page. The "LOVE" title embellishment, the "Heart & Bird" tag and the "Heart & Arrow" are all from that one pack! Talk about being frugal...yes indeed!

She also added a small silver metal key from one of her old diaries as a teen to the page & we looped some of that brown fiber through the key opening & tied it into a bow. There is a tag between the top two photos that says "YOU & ME" that she inked around the edges and attached it to the page with tiny brown brads. It was leftover from another project.

Overall, I think her page came out very nicely. It took her less than 1 hour to do and the total cost for the page was approximately $2.65. Gotta love that!

Father of the Groom Scrapbooking Layout Idea

As promised, here is another scrapbooking layout idea that we did from my daughter's wedding a few months ago. For this scrapbook page we wanted it to be simple and clean...but yet, masculine since it features all men!

The photos show my son-in-law with my husband (his father-in-law) and a photo of him with his own father. Just two simple photos make up this page. The title is "The Dads" short, sweet and simple!

Background is a printed sheet of 12" by 12" scrapbooking paper in a light heather blue color. Each of the printed chocolate brown & blue border strips measure 1/2" by 12" each. One runs across the top of the page and one runs across the bottom of the page.

The two photos were slightly cropped down and matted onto a printed piece of blue scrapbooking paper that has chocolate brown stripes. This was then matted onto chocolate brown printed paper with blue strips. Each mat has 3/16" border. It is slightly off-center of the page to allow the coordinate paper layering on the right side of the photo block which is a strip of light blue & chocolate brown stripes block and the reverse chocolate brown with light blue strips. We cut them to be much smaller than the matted photo block & is there just as an accent.

To accent the photo block even more but yet keep it masculine we glued a very dark brown button to a lighter brown (smaller) button and used glue dots to put that onto the page (on the right). On the left are two file tabs that were layered together, one slightly smaller than the other. One is light blue and the other is chocolate brown. Perfect for our color scheme. We then just wrote the year "2014" on them. Again, going for a clean & uncluttered look.

We used the Cricut to make our title "The Dads" and cut out THE and DADS from light blue paper and then used the shadow function and cut them out again on dark chocolate brown paper. Layered them together with a liquid glue pen and the page was done!

My daughter wanted a masculine page with no frilly stuff at all. We completely achieved that with this Father of the Groom Wedding Scrapooking Page and I think it turned out pretty nicely. Plus, the entire page took less than 40 minutes to make. Yay!

Quick and Easy Flower Girls Wedding Scrapbook Layout Idea

Over the next few months I will be sharing a lot of wedding scrapbooking layouts with all of you. Most of these layouts will be quick & easy page layouts that anyone can do. They are the type of layouts for those who don't enjoy a lot of clutter on their pages.

This particular scrapbook layout features two little flower girls from my daughter's wedding back in September. These two girls looked beautiful and were just darling to be around. Of course, I am partial because the 5 year old is my gorgeous little grand daughter!

The title of the page is "SO SWEET" and to make the title I used my handy dandy Cricut. I cut out the letters on a light heather blue paper first and then a darker blue piece of cardstock on the shadow setting. I then used a liquid glue pen to attach the letters to one another. Between the wording is a cardstock foam-back adhesive sticker of a heart.

Background is a sheet of printed 12 by 12 scrapbooking paper in a heather blue color with small off-white floral print. I used two different border strips, one across the top and one across the bottom. They are different designs but feature the same exact colors. I forget which paper pad pack they are from. I like them as they are not overly frilly looking.
Both photos were slightly cropped down and then matted onto one sheet of printed light blue paper, leaving a 3/16" border. I then matted that onto a sheet of chocolate brown printed paper and left a 1/4" border around that. I then ran a scalloped edge border strip across the bottom and across the top of the photo block. Each top corner is accented with a sheer ribbon light blue bow with an adhesive foam dot on the back. The center of each bow is accented with a tiny faux pearl.

The two photos show the two flower girls and in the one photo you will see my daughter (the bride) along with her darling daughter (my grand daughter). I wanted the page to be simple, wanted the photos to speak for themselves and I didn't want it overly cluttered up. I think I achieved it nicely.

2 Quick and Easy Wedding Scrapbook Layout Ideas

My daughter got married back in early September of this year. She has hundreds upon hundreds of photographs from her wedding day and we have been spending some time together scrapbooking them.

Today I am sharing with all of you 2 quick & easy wedding scrapbooking layouts that are great for beginners or for the person who doesn't like a lot of clutter or frills on their pages. I am not going to go into a lot of detail with this post because seeing the photos should suffice.

The photo above shows the "It's Time" scrapbook layout which features 3 photos that were slightly cropped down, matted onto royal blue cardstock and placed onto a printed background paper in a floral design. She used some royal blue fibers to decorate the page, black alpha letters for her title and some cardstock wedding heart stickers for embellishments.

The second page (shown above) coordinates with the first page (both are on the same floral printed background paper). This page features one 5" by 7" photo of the new couple which was matted onto white and royal blue cardstock (double mats). She used my Cricut to cut out her title letters from royal blue cardstock and used glue dots to affix them to the page.

The bottom is a piece of very expensive satin ribbon with dangling white pearls leftover from a wedding reception decor project that she had made. She wanted to incorporate that "scrap" into her layout. She then finished up my adding two cardstock stickers (embellishments) to the page, one on each side of her photo.

Like I said, these are 2 quick and easy wedding scrapbooking layouts that don't take a lot of time, hard work or money to make. Some people enjoy "frugal" scrapbooking and don't want to invest an arm & a leg into their layouts. Enjoy!

Here Comes the Bride Scrapbooking Layout Idea

Our daughter got married back in early September and I am finally getting around to scrapbooking a few wedding pages for her. When I do her pages, I don't make them too cluttered or too elaborate as she really likes the simplistic look when it comes to her scrapbook pages.

This particular bridal and wedding page would be a great one for a beginner or for someone who enjoys the simple look just like her. The page features 3 wedding photos of her dad walking her down the aisle to say her "I Do's".

The background is a sheet of dark blue 12" by 12" piece of cardstock. On top of that is a piece of 10" by 10" floral print scrapbooking paper. Framing that smaller 10" sheet is 1/2" wide by 10" long silver satin ribbon which was applied using glue dots.

All three photos were cropped down slightly and matted onto dark blue cardstock with a 3/16" edge and then applied to the page with double-sided stick tape. You could place your three photos any where on the page that you would like.

The title is a piece of pre-printed vellum that says "Here Comes the Bride" which was framed up using dark blue cardstock. I added a tiny silver metal star for the i in Bride to just jazz it up a bit and a sheer white ribbon bow accents the right corner of the title block. The only other embellishment is a white 3-dimensional heart sticker with a texture to it and I accented that with a 1/4" diameter faux half-pearl. I used a foam adhesive dot to place it onto the page.

The scrapbooking layout is a lot prettier than what my photo shows because my digital camera flash kept lightening things up and causing flash-back! Ugh! As I work on her wedding scrapbooking, I will post additional layouts as I complete them so keep checking back for more. Some will be simple in design (like this one) and others will be more elaborate.

4 Generations Scrapbooking Layout Page Idea

Recently my daughter got married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Her wedding was absolutely gorgeous and she made for a beautiful bride. To remember her special day, we had the photographer take two photographs featuring 4 generations of family members. These photos include my 66 year old mother, myself, my 29 year old daughter and my 5 1/2 year old little grand daughter.

For the scrapbooking page...I wanted it to be simple and uncluttered as I wanted the two photos to speak for themselves. I think I accomplished that nicely with a simple scrapbooking layout.

The background is a sheet of silver metallic scardstock 12" by 12" size. There is a texture to that piece of cardstock and I like that it is shiny, but not overly so. I slightly cropped down both photos and matted them onto royal blue cardstock, leaving an 1/8" edge.

I used my Cricut to cut out my title letters...a number 4 and the letters to spell out the word Generations. I also used my Cricut to cut out my flourish at the top of the page, all from royal blue cardstock. I matted the number 4 onto a piece of silver cardstock and then matted it onto the royal blue. I did do a little inking around the edges. I added 2 tiny rhinestones to the curls in the flourish to glam it up just a bit.

For embellishments, I made my own bouquet of flowers from royal blue silk flowers, tied them together with royal blue satin ribbon and then added a light blue ribbon bow with a tiny pearl in the center to jazz it up. On each side of that are heart shaped cardstock stickers applied with foam dots. I enhanced the hearts with tiny adhesive-back rhinestones.

I love how clean and uncluttered this scrapbooking layout looks! The photos really do speak for themselves and I am glad we got the photographer to take these two photos for us.

Scrapbooking - Parent's of the Bride Scrapbook Layout

My beautiful daughter got married back in September of this year and the two of us have been busy scrapbooking the memories from her wedding day. We are traditional scrapbookers who hate digital scrapbooking and still do it the classic way with paper and embellishments!

The layout we are featuring today is done in the 12" by 12" format and overall, it turned out really nicely. It only took an hour to complete and the entire page cost less than $2.50 to make. Frugal, yes!

The background is a piece of textured 12 x 12 cardstock in a dark turquoise color. On top of that is a sheet of scrapbooking paper measuring 11" by 11" in size. It is a Bohemian floral print done in muted turquoise, olive green, chocolate and off-white colors. We used chocolate brown ink and inked around the ages to give it a finished off look.

We used 2 horizontal photos and 1 vertical photo; all 3 were slightly cropped down and then matted onto chocolate brown cardstock with an 1/8" edge, matted again onto dark turquoise cardstock with a 3/16" edge. See photo for placement.

I used a Martha Stewart punch (scallop doily edge) to make the block for the title and used dark turquoise cardstock. The title block is in the lower right corner of the page. We used black self-adhesive alpha letters to spell out the title "Bride's Parents". Accented the title block with a white sheer ribbon bow with a pearl center.

To finish up the wedding scrapbooking page we used 3 word cut-outs with Mother, Father, Daughter spelled out on them (left-over from another paper project) and inked around the edges of each one with chocolate ink. A glue stick was then used to apply them to the page above the top photo on the left. We accented them with tiny white half pearls which were attached with mini glue dots. Finally, the bottom left photo and the top right photo were each accented with white sheer ribbon bows with pearl centers.

Overall, its a super quick, easy and pretty layout that doesn't have a lot of embellishments or clutter. We wanted the photos to speak for themselves with a bunch of added distractions.

Craft Project: Natural Mood Lighting - Olive Oil Citrus Candles

I was asked to share this very cute craft project with all of my readers today and I think it's absolutely darling and so simple to make! You could use these olive oil citrus candles outdoors when you are entertaining, indoors during a romantic evening for two or make several of them and use at a family get-together...like a romantic wedding reception.

Natural Mood Lighting With Indie Lee
Clementines are for Lovers: Natural Citrus Candle- Sans Wax

Why burn toxic synthetic materials, or exorbitantly priced soy and bees wax, when the perfect citrus mood-lighting is sitting in your compost? Indie Lee, founder of the all-natural skincare line, Indie Lee & Co, shares one of her at-home secrets for an all-natural clementine candle - no wax necessary!

What You Need:

· 1 Clementine
· Olive Oil

How to Make It:

1. Cut clementine in half.
2. Carefully peel skin off as a whole.
3. Twist the inside into a wick.
4. Fill with a bit of olive oil.
5. Light and enjoy!

*Indie Tip: Cut a small design in the top half of the peel to make a creative candle lid!

About Indie Lee

She took it upon herself to provide a healthy, non-toxic alternative. From this notion, Indie Lee & Co. was born.

Indie Lee & Co. was founded on the principle that women everywhere deserve to have access to a luxurious, all-natural alternative to the artificial, chemically-laden products on the market today. The line is specially formulated to meet the growing demand of health-conscious consumers who long for toxin-free and effective skincare products. Each of the six cross-functional collections provide a natural alternative to common skin conditions such as rosacea, blemishes and dry skin.

Craft Project - Scrabble Tile Framed Wall Hanging

My future son-in-law is turning into a really crafty guy and today, I just had to show you all what he made for my daughter as a Christmas present this past year. Even though he gave it to her for Christmas, it would make a great Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter, Wedding or Birthday gift too!

Scrabble Tile Framed Wall Hanging

Supplies List:

Wooden Frame (your choice of size, his is very large)
White Photo Mat (or color of your choice)
Piece of Heavy Duty Cardstock (color of choice to fit inside the photo opening of the mat)
Lots of Wooden Scrabble Tiles
Glue Dots ( adhesive used in scrapbooking & cardmaking)

Directions: For the project, he spelled out their names, daughter's name and words that are related to love, trust, friendship, etc. (sorry for the flash in my photo). He spelled out the words he wanted and then arranged them onto the black piece of heavy duty cardstock using the glue dots on the back of each wooden tile to hold them in place. He then took the left-over wooden Scrabble tiles and just randomly placed those letters onto the white photo mat as shown in the photograph above. He then assembled everything and slipped it all into a black wooden picture frame. On the backside of the frame, he wrote a love letter to my daughter directly onto the back of the frame which is super sweet!

My daughter has her new piece of handmade "art work" hanging up in their family room and I think it's absolutely GORGEOUS! My photo doesn't do it any justice thanks to my flash on the camera bouncing off of the glass. I will try to get a better photo of it and update this blog post when I do.

Wedding Album

This guest post from Hong Alexander

I was really disappointed when I got our wedding album back from the photographer last year. I felt like he hadn’t taken enough pictures and that the album was much smaller than what we had discussed. Luckily, I had the rights to the photographs and had everything saved on CDs. When I got our album back and was so disappointed, I immediately logged onto Snapfish.com using our wireless internet connection and uploaded all of the pictures from the wedding. I started creating my own wedding book. By the time I was finished with it only a couple of days later, I was amazed at how quickly the book came in. The book came in within a week and was really high quality. I had to give myself props because I thought that the book was really well laid out. My husband agreed and loved the way that it looked. I ended up ordering another two copies: one for my parents and one for his parents. We are going to give them as Christmas gifts this year. I am really excited because I think they will be really happy with it!
