Father of the Groom Scrapbooking Layout Idea

As promised, here is another scrapbooking layout idea that we did from my daughter's wedding a few months ago. For this scrapbook page we wanted it to be simple and clean...but yet, masculine since it features all men!

The photos show my son-in-law with my husband (his father-in-law) and a photo of him with his own father. Just two simple photos make up this page. The title is "The Dads" short, sweet and simple!

Background is a printed sheet of 12" by 12" scrapbooking paper in a light heather blue color. Each of the printed chocolate brown & blue border strips measure 1/2" by 12" each. One runs across the top of the page and one runs across the bottom of the page.

The two photos were slightly cropped down and matted onto a printed piece of blue scrapbooking paper that has chocolate brown stripes. This was then matted onto chocolate brown printed paper with blue strips. Each mat has 3/16" border. It is slightly off-center of the page to allow the coordinate paper layering on the right side of the photo block which is a strip of light blue & chocolate brown stripes block and the reverse chocolate brown with light blue strips. We cut them to be much smaller than the matted photo block & is there just as an accent.

To accent the photo block even more but yet keep it masculine we glued a very dark brown button to a lighter brown (smaller) button and used glue dots to put that onto the page (on the right). On the left are two file tabs that were layered together, one slightly smaller than the other. One is light blue and the other is chocolate brown. Perfect for our color scheme. We then just wrote the year "2014" on them. Again, going for a clean & uncluttered look.

We used the Cricut to make our title "The Dads" and cut out THE and DADS from light blue paper and then used the shadow function and cut them out again on dark chocolate brown paper. Layered them together with a liquid glue pen and the page was done!

My daughter wanted a masculine page with no frilly stuff at all. We completely achieved that with this Father of the Groom Wedding Scrapooking Page and I think it turned out pretty nicely. Plus, the entire page took less than 40 minutes to make. Yay!
