The Happy Trunk - Craft Kits for Kids!

I love doing various crafts and I have passed along my love for crafting to my adult daughter and my little 5 year old grand daughter. We like to get together pretty often for what we call "Girls Day" and sit down and craft together. It is a lot of fun and great for family bonding!

Recently I was introduced to The Happy Trunk which is a subscription box service where they deliver a box of craft goodies to you every month. Almost everything that you need for the project is included. You can join and get a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or annual subscription. Each of the subscriptions include free shipping which is really great and you can get discounts by signing up for longer duration subscriptions.

We received "The Familia" craft kit to review for all of you. With this craft kit you sit down and make a family of wooden peg dolls. The kit includes: 8 peg dolls in various sizes, decoupage medium, foam brush, decorative paper, rhinestone embellishments, ribbon and an instruction sheet. Everything is packed nicely into a cardboard storage box.

To do this particular project we used our own scissors, markers and ribbons. From start to finish...it took us about an hour to complete and my grand daughter really loved sitting down with me to make them. While they do include an instruction sheet...they also want you to be creative and it is perfectly fine to come up with your own designs with the included supplies.

In just our first craft session with this particular kit we made 4 of the wooden peg dolls. The next time the Princess comes over, we will make the other 4 since we ran out of time on this particular play date. In addition, I have a bunch of scraps leftover from other craft projects that I tossed into a shoe box that she can use with the supplies in this craft kit to get even more creative with her peg doll designs.

The Happy Trunk Craft Kits are great gifts to give during the holidays, during birthdays or just order them to keep on hand when those rainy & cold days hit. Kids are always looking for something creative to do and these craft kits do exactly that...spark their creativity! We love them!!!
