Easy To Make Felt Holiday Ornament Refrigerator Magnets

If you are looking for a fun and easy project to do with older children, then perhaps you should consider making some of these felt ornament shaped refrigerator magnets. If magnets are not your thing, you could omit the magnet and add a hanging loop and turn them into tree ornaments. Here is what you will need:

Felt Holiday Ornament Refrigerator Magnets

red and blue craft felt
red and blue thread or embroidery floss
gold sequins and gold seed beads
glitter glue
scissors
4" diameter circle template

For our pattern, we traced around a 4" diameter drinking glass and then hand drew a small rectangle on top of the circle to make our tree ornament shape.

Trace your ornament shape onto red craft felt and cut out. Using that same shape as your template, cut a second one out of blue felt and then cut a 2" section out of the center of the blue felt piece. You will now have 2 blue pieces. Using 2 strands of blue embroidery floss, hand sew the 2 blue pieces to one of your red pieces as show in the photo (for placement). Using brown thread, randomly hand sew on sequins and beads to the blue sections of felt. Next, cut out another red felt piece and then sew both of the red felt pieces together using 2 strands of red embroidery floss. We then used some glitter glue (bottle has a nice tip on it) to write the word "Joy" onto the front of our ornament. Once it was dried, we glued a magnet strip onto the back.
