Crafts - Homemade Playdough Recipe For Kids

If you are looking for a homemade recipe for play dough (play dough), I think you should try this one. When our daughter was little, we used to make it all of the time! Once you have made your dough, you will need to store it in an airtight container or plastic zipper closure bag to keep it from drying out.

*This recipe is not meant to be eaten...it is for playing*

Homemade Play Dough Recipe

2 cups flour
2 cups water
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons Cream of tartar
4 tablespoons oil
food coloring

Mix all ingredients in a microwave safe container. Microwave on high 3-5 minutes, stirring every minute. Cook until mixture gets so thick it can’t be stirred anymore.

Let the mixture cool down to room temperature. Divide the dough and knead in your desired color of food coloring. Store your play dough in plastic containers or plastic baggies to keep it from drying out.

TIP: I like to wear rubber or plastic gloves when kneading in the food coloring.

This is a great rainy or snowy day project to do with the kids!
