Amusement Park 2-Page Scrapbooking Layout Idea

Back in June of 2015 our entire family spent a wonderful week down in Wildwood New Jersey (the Jersey Shore) and it was one of the best family vacations we've ever taken! On one particular day we took our 6 year old grand daughter up onto the boardwalk and left her get on some of the amusement park rides on Morey's Piers.

Over the next several weeks I will be sharing numerous beach themed scrapbooking layouts here on my craft blog. Today's scrapbook layout is a 2-page layout done in an amusement park theme. It's done in the traditional 12 x 12 format and it's not digital!

* Note: You can click on each photo in this post which will open it in a new window and it will automatically enlarge. This will allow you to see the details up close.

The title page is the left-page which is simply titled "Boardwalk". The background is made up of several different sheets of paper layered onto a piece of white cardstock. The largest is the multi-color polka dot sheet which measures 12" x 9" in size. The blue piece of textured cardstock measures 12" by 2" in size and the raspberry colored piece of cardstock measures 12" by 1" in size. I used a wavy edge pair of scissors along one edge of the raspberry sheet of paper (see photo above). A scrap of paper with diagonal multi-color lines measuring 1 3/4" by 4 1/2" runs vertical down the right side of the layout.

The clown embellishment and the big-top tent were all die-cuts that were layered & pieced together and then glued onto the page using a glue stick. Chipboard letters were used to spell out "LOOK" which is right above the photo on the left. The photo mats are done in a turquoise blue, white and lime green color. A chipboard sticker "Summer" sits right underneath the photo of my grand daughter. I used rub-on letters that measure 1 1/4" in length to spell out BOARDWALK on the dark turquoise cardstock strip and to finish up I added a chipboard ice cream cone embellishment on top of the scrap piece of printed diagonal paper.

The coordinating page continues on with the theme and contains my journaling about our afternoon spent at this super fun beach-side amusement park. The majority of the big top tent is on this page and several pieces of paper were used to make up the background. The photo mats are in white, orange and turquoise colors. The "Say Cheese" and "Family" were cardstock embellishments I had on hand. The journaling is done on a lime green index card that was cropped down and buttons, a sticker and some white twine were added as accents. Underneath the big top tent is a word sticker that says "Dream Vacation". All journaling was done in my own handwriting using a royal blue gel pen.

These scrapbook pages are delightful to look at and make me want to go to the amusement park on Morey's Pier. I would have a lot of fun there.
