Felt Food - Variety of Felt Crackers - Play Food Patterns

When it comes to making felt food for your little girls play food sets, I think its important to include some easy to make crackers. For this installment of my felt food projects, I am including instructions on how I made Graham Crackers, Wheat Crackers (Wheat Thins) and finally round Ritz-Style crackers.

Graham Crackers:

1 sheet of medium brown felt
1 hank of medium brown embroidery floss
2 1/2" square paper pattern

Using your paper pattern, cut out 2 brown felt squares. Using 2 strands of embroidery floss, make several french knots on 1 side of each square to represent cracker holes. Once completed, place the 2 squares wrong-side together and blanket stitch around the edges.

Wheat Thin Style Crackers:

1 sheet of heathed tan felt
1 hank of light tan embroidery floss (slightly lighter than your felt color)
2" square paper pattern

Using your paper pattern, cut out 2 tan felt squares. Using 2 strands of light tan embroidery floss, make several french knots on 1 side of each square to represent cracker indentations or salt. Once completed, place the 2 squares wrong-side together and blanket stitch around the edges. For these crackers, I preferred to use embroidery floss that was a tad lighter than my felt color as I wanted my stitching to show up better.

Ritz Style Crackers:

1 sheet of medium brown felt
1 hank of tan colored embroidery floss
2" round (diameter) paper pattern

Using your paper pattern, cut out 2 round pieces from your brown felt. Using 2 strands of embroidery floss, make french knots on 1 side of each circle. Once finished, place the 2 circles wrong-side together and blanket stitch or whip stitch around the edges.

As you can see, these are pretty easy to make and work up quickly. You can find additional free patterns for felt food ---> HERE
