How To Make Chocolate Lollipop Party Favors

If you are throwing a party and looking for a great party favor, you should consider making homemade chocolate candy lollipops. You can really personalize your favors to suit the theme of your party.

We were able to find the candy wafers, plastic molds, sticks, twist ties and bags all at our local craft supply store. For our project, we purchased a Wilton (tm) candy mold in a baby buggy shape and made these for a baby shower.

Supplies You Will Need:

Chocolate Candy Wafers - Come in a variety of colors and flavors
Lollipop Candy Molds - Come in a variety of shapes and sizes
Measuring Cup
Microwave-Safe Bowl
Silicone Spatula
Lollipop Sticks
Plastic Bags - We found pretty designed ones to fit our theme
Twist Ties - Variety of colors
Silicone Drying Mat or Parchment Paper

Tips: I find it best to get out all of my supplies and have them handy. Only melt a few chocolate wafers at a time, measure them out in 1/4 cup increments. Use silicone spatulas and non-stick mats to help prevent sticking.

Directions: Place 1/4 cup of chocolate wafers into a plastic microwave-safe bowl. Melt chocolates on 50% power setting for 30 seconds. Stir chocolate using your silicone spatula. If needed, microwave wafers at 15 second intervals until completely melted, stirring in between each interval.

While melting the wafers, lay your candy molds on a flat surface. Place a lollipop stick in each mold. Once wafers are done melting, using your spatula, drizzle the melted chocolate into the cavity of each mold, filling it completely. Lightly tap mold onto flat surface to release any air bubbles that form.

Carefully carry the mold trays and place them flat on a refrigerator shelf. Keep them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or until they are nice and firm. Once they are firm, remove from the refrigerator and pop them out of the molds. I like to lay mine on a nonstick silicone mat for 10 minutes before I insert the lollipops into the individual bags. Once they are in the bag, use a twist tie to fasten the bag shut.
