Sigh...I really wanted to get this post published before the Easter holiday but things just got in the way. In any case, I am publishing it now and this way it will be on the blog for when next Easter rolls around.
These wooden Easter Bunny Egg Figures are really easy to make and I love their little country appeal. You can make up an entire family of them for less than $10.00 max.
Wooden Easter Bunny Egg Figures
Solid Wood Unfinished Eggs
Vanilla or Off-White Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Sharpie Fine Tip Markers: Black, Pink and White
Scraps of Muslin Fabric
All-Purpose Craft Glue or Glue Gun
Lay down some plastic or newspaper onto your work surface. When painting, you always want to take the time out to protect your work surface!!!
Paint your eggs the color that you want them (we did an off-white almost an antique pale beige color). Let them thoroughly dry. Use the fine-tip Sharpie markers to draw on the eyes, whiskers, nose and mouth using the appropriate colors. If you're a good decorative painter, please feel free to paint on your own cute facial features. Cut some muslin fabric into thin strips and tie each strip into a knot. Glue the knotted strip on top of each of the bunny's heads to resemble ears.
Note: If you would like to add some pink to the center of the fabric ears use a little bit of powdered cosmetic blush.
