Stars on Ice - Ice Skating Scrapbooking Page Layout

Back in October of 2014 we had the pleasure of attending a professional ice skating event up in State College Pennsylvania that was hosted by Musselman's Apple Sauce. The musical guest for the show was Amy Grant and it was awesome! If you ever get the chance to attend, I highly recommend it.

A few weeks ago I finally had the time to sit down and work on a few ice skating theme scrapbooking page layouts. Both of these layouts are semi-quick, easy to put together and what I consider to be frugal. I am not into spending $10.00 per page in any of my scrapbooks!

The first layout incorporates both of our admission tickets as one of the main embellishments. I had 2 photos that I used on this page and I slightly cropped them down and matted them on one sheet of printed paper. I put the admission tickets above them using glue dots and I had a cardstock cut-out of a pair of ice skates that I used to accent it. To keep things simple I cut a border from the printed paper leftover from the photo mat and ran that down the left side of the page. To add a little glitz to the page I used 5 self-adhesive swiggle stickers that had clear rhinestones attached to them. Underneath the photo strip I added a tab and simply stamped the letters SKATING on that and added 3 tiny clear rhinestones underneath it. Like I said...quick, easy and frugal!

The second page took me a little bit longer and I used four photos on it. I cropped down 3 of my photos to measure 3" by 3" square. I matted them onto a piece of royal blue felt that had silver glitter embedded on it. I wanted a little more glitz and glam for this page since it features four photos of professional ice skater Kurt Browning who is my favorite skater!!! I had one larger photo of Kurt skating with his adorable son and I matted that photo on the same royal blue silver glitter felt and place that above the triple photo strip.

Since I LOVE Kurt Browning I used pink letter stickers with red hearts on them to spell out his name. Using pink also brought out the pink & red in my photos too!  I had 3 different clear adhesive back wordage stickers that talked about ice skating that I placed on the page at the left and top right. To finish up, I added five small purple star stickers scattered on the page.

If you have been following my craft blog the past few years you will already know that I am a frugal and simple crafter. I don't like dumping $10.00 per page in my scrapbooking layouts but yet I want them to look nice. In addition, I prefer uncluttered pages with simple designs. Just my design taste. You can find additional scrapbook layouts by checking out that category here on my blog.
