Cotton Candy Girl Scrapbook Layout Idea

My little grand daughter loves cotton candy and her love for the sweet stuff. Every time we go to the Circus, the Beach, the local Carnival or just about any where, she always asks us to buy her some. We don't give it to her every day, but we do treat her to cotton candy on special occasions.

This scrapbook layout is in the 12" x 12" size and was created using three sheets of cardstock and one sheet of scrapbooking paper. The background is a sheet of pink, orange and yellow paisley and floral print paper measuring 12" by 12" in size. I then took a piece of textured hot pink cardstock and squared it off to measure 10" by 10" in size. I used a glue stick and some hot pink staples to adhere it to my printed background sheet.
I had three photos that I wanted to use on this page of my grand daughter enjoying her blue cotton candy. I cropped down each photo and then matted them onto solid pink and solid yellow cardstock to pull out the colors from the paisley printed paper. Plus, she is wearing a hot pink summer dress. The pink mat has a 3/16" border and the yellow mat has a 1/8" border.

The title of my page is "Cotton Candy Girl" and I used some hot pink and yellow floral alpha letters to spell it out. I placed each alpha letter onto black cardstock and then cut them out. The black border really makes them POP on the hot pink background. I put my title down the page vertical and accented it with two silk mauve/pink flowers with tiny pearl centers.
I used glue dots to put my three photos onto the page and accented the top right corner with four silk pink and mauve flowers of varying sizes. I used adhesive foam dots which gives them even more dimension. I love clusters of flowers in corners! I used a little chipboard cutout and wrote her name on it and then affixed it to the right of the top photo using two tiny heart shaped brads.

Making your own cotton candy embellishment is really easy! I just took a scrap of yellow paper and rolled it up and glued it into a tube shape. I took some light blue yarn fiber and then pulled it a part to make it all fuzzy looking. I then arranged that fuzz into a cotton candy shape and glued it to the page. My 3-dimensional cotton candy embellishment that I made is cute and its in the bottom right corner of the layout.

Overall, I really like this layout. I don't like a LOT of clutter on my pages and this layout has just enough to add interest and dimension without it looking too busy. Hope you like it!
